Mild mannered engineer by day, sometimes creative genius by night... Raised on Star Trek, Monty Python, Masterpiece Theater & NOVA. So know a little about a lot. Favorite thing I've done in my career--operating the scanning electron microscope lab.
Oh, I do realize that yes, it should be "Banzai"--from "Buckaroo Bansai Across the 8th Dimension", but when I was in Illinois, and applied for a license plate Banzai8, it was taken, so I opted for Bansai8--figured for a Miata, it was an appropriate hybrid of Banzai and bonsai. And have just kept using it!
In the past few years I've been focusing my creative energies into designing and making purses, bags and other interesting items from leather and fur (repurposing old coats and other quality scraps), and started a business Bansai8 Creations (www.bansai8creations.net). Also dabble in jewelry and other projects. Every once and while work on a house project (love tiling--yes, I do own a tile saw and other power tools). Haven't quite broken free of the day job habit--use it to support my hobbies and interests.
Also enjoy making costumes and thinking about Steampunk.
